One of the thorniest issues under the GDPR has been the granting of access rights to data subjects. Among the critical questions have been issues including: What is a “copy” under the law? What does the controller need to search for personal data? How extensive must searches be? What does the data subject have to do to prove her/his identity? What happens when subject access requests implicate the personal data of third persons? This session will provide real examples from different EU member states and offer practical solutions.
