Part 1 – Deploying AI Systems: Law, Policy, and Governance
In this portion, we will explore the emerging U.S. and global legal requirements for AI deployers, and key governance questions, including:
- Protecting confidential or proprietary data through technical, legal, or administrative means;
- Approaches to fine-tuning, including when a model has been modified significantly enough to trigger developer obligations;
- Management of individual privacy and data protection requests (e.g. the right to erasure) in the context of generative AI;
- What is considered “high risk” under global AI and data protection laws, and how does it add to deployment considerations?
Part 2 – Case Studies: High Risk Situations and Agentic AI
In this portion, we will explore in greater depth the law and policy approaches to “high risk” AI use cases through case studies and group discussion. Participants will be asked to react to case studies that build on and apply the knowledge presented on Part 1.
