This spring’s EU Privacy + Security Law Workshop will focus on two key topics: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and regulatory enforcement trends. In particular, the speakers will discuss: 

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Europe
    • The EU AI Act: Background and status
    • Overview: scope; classification of AI systems; requirements; sanctions
    • Data protection: overlaps and tensions
    • Emergent best practices: leveraging elements of data privacy compliance programs
  • Enforcement trends in Europe
    • Regulatory trends: current statistics and objectives
    • Enforcement actions- largest GDPR fines
    • Top priorities for certain European regulators (ICO, CNIL, IDPC etc.)
    • EDPB enforcement strategy and its interplay
    • New enforcement landscape with the AI Act, DSA/DMA, Data Act etc.

The workshop will follow a blended approach with lively interaction between the speakers and the participants to maximize engagement. The speakers will offer practical insights and hands-on advice.
