HIPAA was signed into law in the summer of 1996. Since then, there have been sweeping changes to healthcare data collection, storage, and use, with growing diversity, complexity, and volume of healthcare data. In turn, the technology and analysis built on this data has also exploded, most recently with AI tools.
In this panel discussion, we’ll explore how data and its uses has changed, and how de-identification-enabled data programs have evolved in lock-step with the technological progress. We’ll share experiences and lessons from operationalizing multimodal data in 2026’s landscape, from the contrasting perspectives of industry solutions provider, in-house legal, and life sciences information governance.
Brian Rasquinha, Associate Director, Solution Architecture, Privacy Analytics (moderator)
Tiffany Williams, Head of US & Canada Information Governance, IQVIA
Meera Patel, Assistant General Counsel – Privacy & Cybersecurity, Becton Dickinson
Erika Klump, Senior Director, Data Strategy and Solutions, Premier Inc.
