The use of tracking technologies on websites and mobile applications (e.g., cookies, pixels, and bits of code) is ubiquitous. Privacy risks abound especially if the tracking technology is used when a consumer is making particularly sensitive choices related to their health or interacting with certain features of a website. The talk will discuss best practices and enforcement related to the use of this technology from FTC, OCR, California, and Virginia.
