AI governance can’t stop at deployment. Real risk materializes after the model and associated processes go live (scheming, drift, emergent behavior, excessive agency), and most organizations aren’t equipped to detect and mitigate the risk. Using NIST AI 800-4 as a starting point, this panel will tackle the technical, legal, and operational challenges of governing AI systems throughout their lifecycle. Panelists will address fragmented logging, scalable oversight, accountability frameworks, auditability requirements, and the alignment of monitoring practices with evolving regulatory expectations.
