A revolutionary change is taking place in the Asian privacy landscape. Privacy laws in the APAC region are expected to grow as much as 25% since 2021 by the end of this year. By the time this conference takes place in November, there will be significant new developments in the region. This session will give an overview of recent APAC privacy developments and provide guidance on how to approach and operationalize compliance. Key focus areas will include: 1) India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Bill; 2) Vietnam’s Protection of Personal Data Decree; 3) China’s Personal Information Protection Law and the recently enacted SCCs; and 4) Japan’s efforts to lead an organization tasked with crafting uniform guidelines for cross-border data transfers.
