California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and Utah all have new privacy laws taking effect in 2023.  Given the differences between these laws, taking a state-by-state approach threatens to overly complicate compliance programs, while stretching the resources of privacy offices and legal teams tasked to implement them.  But not to worry: in this session, we’ll break down the similarities and differences between these new laws on key topics like opt-outs, data subject rights requests, and contracting requirements, and will provide a roadmap forward for a single compliance approach when starting from a CCPA-style compliance program.
